The project is considered one of the solutions to the problem of poverty, as the problems facing families living in the village of Al-Ghunaimiyah and its geographical dependencies in Edfu Kebili are not limited to poverty (lack and lack of financial resources) only, as many problems have accumulated over the years, such as: the randomness of the urban system, the lack of basic health services, and the spread of reading, writing, and cognitive illiteracy. In addition to the lack of sanitation and the depletion of groundwater, the accumulation of these problems has led to the existence of the problem of multidimensional poverty, which occurs when an individual is unable to provide most of his basic needs due to poverty (safe housing / human bathroom / clean water / proper nutrition / basic education / illiteracy in reading, writing and life knowledge / keeping up with technology...). The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics announced that the poverty rate in Egypt reached 32.5% and The poverty rate in Aswan Governorate reached 46.5% on July 30, 2019 AD.
A work team from the Mohamed El-Nadi Charitable Foundation made successive field visits to these areas with the aim of monitoring the reality of life in all its aspects and the needs of the residents there.
She explained the existence of the following challenges, which are related to the basic needs and requirements necessary for the population to provide them with a decent life, which include:
- Lack of sustainable job opportunities and lack of diversity in economic activities.
- Weakness that reaches the point of lack of health services provided to the people of the region.
- Weak quality of education, dropout in the primary stage, high rate of reading and writing illiteracy (especially among those holding technical diplomas and those who drop out of education), and life-related cognitive illiteracy, computer and information technology illiteracy, which is the spirit of the age and its future
The project contributed to graduating a number of (80) of the most deserving families from the poorest and most impoverished families from the space of extreme poverty (subsistence) to the space of decent life (sufficiency) in the village of Al-Ghunaimiya / Edfu Kebili / Aswan, by providing the necessary interventions for each family to solve the problem of multidimensional poverty, where a work team from the Muhammad Al-Nadi Charitable Foundation raises the needs of the families and provides appropriate support. For each family, then follow up on each family to ensure the improvement of their living conditions (social) by providing safe housing / human bathroom / clean water / clean energy) and educational and cognitive by providing basic education / treating reading and writing illiteracy and life knowledge / keeping up with technology....). The health sector provides screening, examination, analysis, treatment, and proper nutrition, and the economic sector provides economic projects and job creation to enable and assist these families to improve their own resources and transform them from dependent families into productive families that contribute to economic development. To be an upper hand that thinks, produces, helps others, and contributes to the development of society economically and socially, instead of being a lower hand that extends and waits for the other to give. The priorities of the project were inspired by the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
