The Community Development Association in Al-Joura is a non-profit civil organization registered under No. 65 of 1984. It was established and declared by a group of natural leaders in the Al-Joura region in North Sinai, headed by the late Sheikh / Khalaf Hassan Al-Khalafat, with the aim of contributing to the development of the border area of Sheikh Zuweid, Rafah and Central Sinai in North Sinai Governorate. It has experience in civil work for more than 39 years, during which it received many awards, medals and certificates. The honors included: receiving the Excellence Award for Civil Society Organizations 2018 sponsored by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Certificate of Institutional Commitment - Misr Al-Khair Foundation, the National Foundation Award for 2024 from the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, the Prince Muhammad bin Fahd Award for Best Charitable Performance in the Arab World 2024, and more than three master’s and doctoral theses were discussed in which the Al-Joura Association was chosen as a case study because of its distinguished role over the years in serving the local community on the land of Sinai.
